A busy day!

We had a busy day today!

In the morning, we had a visit from Officer Otey. We got to learn about the tools he wears and got to explore the police cruiser.

Then, we made a new math tool called a number rack. We needed 5 red beads and 5 white beads. This will be an essential tool for us in unit two which is about combinations that make 10.

It is Wednesday, which means we get a visit from Mrs. Haddock. Today she read the book When the Wind Stops. We passed around a "window" to share something we can see blowing in the wind outside our window. Then we got to draw pictures for our windows.

Whew! What a busy day in Kindergarten!

Turkeys!

Today we also finished up our turkey counting books. Whew! That was a lot of work, but they came out great and helped our brains grow.

Then we ate turkey cookies! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Rescue Squad visit

During our P.E. time today, we had a visit from Carolyn Knight who taught us about what the Rescue Squad does and showed us the ins and outs of the ambulance. Our class asked great questions and definitely learned a lot!

All about us...

We brought in 4 objects that showed how we are special and unique. We are all different.

I'm glad I'm not a turkey!

BES Thanksgiving Feast

We had a very special family style turkey lunch with our big partners today. Yum!  We all wore our turkey hats and used our placemats that show what we are thankful for.

Today's book

Mrs. Haddock read Giving Thanks today. This book explores things in nature that we should be thankful for. As always, her suitcase was chock full of souvenirs and clues about the story.
